CHELMSFORD, Mass., Nov. 4, 2014 -- Brooks Automation, Inc. (Nasdaq:BRKS) announced the appointment of Maurice "Dusty" Tenney III to the role of President, Life Science Systems, effective November 3, 2014. In this role, Mr. Tenney will have overall leadership responsibility for the company's growing life sciences business and portfolio consisting of automated sample storage systems; instruments and devices; consumables; and services.

Prior to joining Brooks, Mr. Tenney spent 13 years at PerkinElmer where he served in several executive leadership roles transforming its Laboratory Services and Environmental Health businesses prior to his recent role as Sr. Vice President Customer Operations. Earlier in his career he worked for both Honeywell/Allied Signaland General Electric in progressive operations and general management leadership positions. 

Mr. Tenney received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland and his Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont. He will be appointed as an executive officer at Brooks.
